B.F.A. ENTRANCE EXAM
Different colleges of arts follow different patterns for the Fine arts entrance exam and different eligibility and selection criteria. admission process is based on merit or through entrance exam depending upon the college.
A Few Colleges which Conduct B.F.A. Entrance Exam are -
1. College of Arts, Delhi University
2. Jamia Milia Islamia
3. Banaras Hindu University
4. JJ School of Arts
5. The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda
6. BFA, Chandigarh University
The eligibility requirement and pattern of each college is more or less similar and can be found on their respective website. To crack These exams students can either collect knowledge from these Websites or can get B.F.A. entrance exam sample papers.
Students can also opt for coaching for fine arts entrance exam.
College of Art Exam Pattern:
Candidates have to carry their own drawing board and materials for the test. Only the answer sheets And clay will be provided by the college. The Aptitude test will consist of the following papers.
Objective drawing:
Candidates have to draw objects with light and shade showing background and forgoing in pencil on 1/2 imperial size paper ( Not Applicable to Art History) 1 1/2Hours 60 marks
For Art History Specialization only:
Candidates have to indentify and write their views/crite on three visuals on art, artist, period etc 1 1/2 Hours 60 Marks
General Knowledge (For all specializations)
Subjective and objective type question related to Arts, personalities, Event & Current Affairs 1 1/2 Hours 30 Marks
Composition for Applied Arts Specialization:
Illustration from memory on a given subject in Water Colour, tempera, Ink or Oil Pastel on 1/4 imperial size paper 1/2 hours 60 Marks
For Art History Specialization:
Candidates to write an analysis/ premise on a topic to be given at the time of the examination in about 800 words in either English or Hindi- 1 1/2 Hours 60 marks
For Painting Specialization:
Painting from memory on a given subject in water colour tempera, Ink or oil pastel on 1/4 imperial size paper 1 1/2 hours 60 marks
For Printmaking Specialization:
Painting from memory on a given subject in water colour tempera, Ink or oil pastel on 1/4 imperial size paper 1 1/2 hours 60 marks
For sculpture Specialization:
Modeling from memory in clay on a given subject 1 1/2 Hours 60 Marks
For Visual Communication:
A test in design to assess concept, application, ability in using line, colour ad space in the visualization on a subject to be given at the time of the examination, in tempera, ink or oil pastel on 1/4 imperial size paper 1 1/2 Hours 60 Marks

Candidates who will secure 50% or more makes in the aptitude test will be considered for Admission to the Foundation.The Final selection of the candidates will be made by the college strictly on order of merit in the following manner:

The list of selected candidates will be displayed in the college notice board on 10 July 2018(expected date). No individual communication to the candidates will be sent in this regard.
Candidates who have been selected for admission us join the college by depositing the prescribed fees and other charges by 11 & 12july 2018 (expected)
Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Test (JMIEE)-B.F.A Exam Pattern Exam Pattern
Test Duration- 180 min.
Total Marks- 100
Total Questions- 100
Marking System– 1 mark each for the correct answer.
There are 0.25 marks for the wrong answer.
Banaras Hindu University
BHU Bachelor of Fine Arts has one theory & 2 practical papers. BHU bfa UET application process has started on 2
February and last date of apply for BHU is 10th march. BHU UET is a common exam and makes the student eligible
for admission to various undergraduate course offered by Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. It is one of the most reputed Central Universities in the county.
The student can apply to various courses in BHU provided that are not on the same date

The Theory Paper shall comprise 50 multiple-choice questions of 60 minutes duration carrying 150 marks.
Questions shall be on general awareness in Visual Arts (Painting, Sculpture, Commercial Art/Applied Art,
Pottery, Ceramics and Textiles). There will be TWO Practical Examinations viz.
(i) Object drawing in pencil with light and shade of 90 minutes duration carrying 150 marks.
(ii) Memory Drawing from imagination of 90 minutes duration carrying 150 marks (in any medium i.e. Pencil, Colour Pencils, Pastels, Crayons, Water Colour, Poster Colour etc.).

1. The practical examinations for shortlisted candidates will be held at BHU Campus, Varanasi only.
2. Appearance in both Theory and Practical Examinations is mandatory in order to be eligible for consideration for Admission.

Composition
• Practice of various surroundings. Example: Railway Station, Fair, Scene and many more.
• Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.
